Akwa United gaffer, Abdu Maikaba has stated that the Promise Keepers are read to break the bank to secure the services of a striker.
The former Wikki Tourist gaffer specifically noted that he’ll need three players who he intend to sign ahead of the second half of the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
“We have all worked hard and now we are fifth on the league table after 19 matches, we shall plan as we approach the the remaining 19 games and hopefully by the end of the season we would have achieve our set target,” Maikaba told Footyalert
“You are yet to see the best of Akwa United, you will see more from us.” Maikaba continued
“We need a goalkeeper, a central midfielder and a clinical attacker. We are ready to break the bank to get a striker that can score goals.”
Akwa United sit fifth on the NPFL table with 29 points from 19 matches.
