
It was a joyous moment for all nigerians and football fans in Nigeria when Nationwide League One (NLO) and Pipul TV signed a Title Sponsorship deal worth N100 million inits first year of the three years contract, a deal that has been described by Mohammed Alkali , the independent Chairman of the NLO as partnership that will change the fortune of Stakeholders in the cradle of football in Nigeria.
The deal is expected to begin on 8 July.
In a media briefing held in Lagos on Wednesday the Chairman of the PIPUL TV, Benjamin Okorafor, presented a dummy cheque for the amount and gave details of the deal.
“It’s not as if we have money to throw around, we just want to associate with the brand and help it grow,” Okorafor said.
PIPUL TV is a Nigerian-based Regional IPTV (Internet Protocol television (IPTV) service provider for West Africa .
The deal will enable PIPUL TV broadcast three live NLO maatches in 3 different sports channels in a week .
“We want foreigners to sit in the comfort of their homes to watch our leagues and spot talents or even bring theirs to come and feature here.”
PIPUL TV also have broadcast rights to the Major League Soccer, LaLiga Santander, Chinese Super League and the English Premier League.
Meanwhile the Chairman of the NLO Alkali Mohammed added that the agreement will help grow the league.
“We will uplift grassroots league and give hope to our youths,” he said
